Cub Scout Campout!

Last weekend, we went camping with our cub scout troop. And, boy, was it cold! I, personally, woke up quite the unhappy camper since I was freezing and my mattress deflated and I was sleeping on the ground with a very sore back! Ugh. But, the boys had a blast and Nicky even went, which was a lot of fun for them to have their dad there.

One of the dads had these military hand warmer thingies that were fascinating to the boys! Here Levi is warming his hands with his.

Here's Levi and one of the other boys walking around the fire pit.
The pack was working on a sports badge this weekend, so they played soccer, kickball, volleyball, horseshoes, and golf. Here, it takes 5 boys to set up one soccer goal!! lol
Levi has the soccer ball! Go, Levi, go!
Now, Indy has the soccer ball! Go, Indy, go!!
Ok, Indy's taking a break! That's too much running for him!! lol
For each sport, they learned the rules and some skills and then actually played it. They had to do an individual sport, too, so they did golf. But, since none of the adults really know how to play it, they asked Levi to teach the pack how to play. They even gave him a headset attached to a big megaphone speaker. He thought he was the king with that on!! lol
Here, he's talking about the goal of golf (to get it in the hole) and what the clubs are called.
Here, he's letting them hit plastic practice balls with drivers and irons.
Here, he's teaching one of the boys the proper way to place his feet, while Daddy looks on. Oh, and club placement, too.

He had them all lined up, just like his Coach Derrick does at practice, while he walked back and forth, observing. Though, I think he should learn to walk BEHIND the golfers, not IN FRONT OF them!! lol
Indy set up cones for them to practice putting into. We only had 3 putter, so they made 3 lines to try it out. Since Indy's played some golf, too, and also knows some stuff, he was able to "assist" Levi while I took pictures.
After golf, they learned about horseshoes. Funny enough, the cubmaster didn't really know how to play, so Nicky stepped up to teach the boys the rules and how to play. They all learned and had fun playing.

Indy was the only one who made a ringer!! And he was so proud!! Daddy was proud, too!!

We had a lot of fun at our campout and in 3 weeks, we get to do it again!! Oh, yay. :-) Though I love camping, they may camp me out!!
